Job to Career Readiness Boot Camp
Boot Camp
The Job to Career Readiness Boot Camp provided an inside track to help fill approximately 1,000 jobs in southern New Mexico.  Participants engaged in a number of sessions designed to provide valuable insight to the application and interview process for the represented companies with job openings.  SNMSHRM is proud to be a partner in this initiative.  Held events:  July 16 - Las Cruces; July 30 - Anthony.

Registration is now open for the September 17th Boot-Camp at the DACC Sunland Park Center.  Upon completion of the Boot Camp, attendees will have the opportunity to submit an application for positions of interest.  Space is limited.  For additional information or to register, call DACC at 575-527-7538.

Letter from the President:

Esteemed Members and Friends of SNMSHRM,

I hope you are well as the transition into Autumn gently occurs here in Southern New Mexico.

The year is quickly coming to an end as time races on.  Much has occurred recently within our Chapter.  We have grown in membership, we had another successful year with the Employment Law Update and we have transitioned our Main Page and Admin Management Page to a new provider. Thank you Vice President Eldelisa Nava for taking on the leadership in the web migration process.  Viewers may have noticed the changes to the Main Page.  We want to increase utilization of all the features of our internet presentation to members and the public.

The next meeting is an important one for two reasons.  Scott Ferrin from SHRM will be with us to present information regarding the new SHRM Certification.  He will focus on the actual changes and value that the new Certification holds, as well as the process for attaining Certification.

Additionally, we will finalize the election of Officers for the 2015 Board of Directors for SNM SHRM.  You will have received a ballot by email and information about the nominees. Ballots will also be available at the meeting.  If you cannot attend you can cast your ballot by proxy.  Place your ballot choices in a sealed envelope and allow a member who will be at the meeting to present your ballot.  If you prefer, you may contact me and I will assist you in whatever way I can.

Thank you for your attention to this.  Have a happy Veterans day in honor of those who serve or have served at any time.

Joe Provencio, SNMSHRM Chapter President
