Letter From the President

I would like to congratulate all of the newly certified members of our chapter!  In February we celebrated the accomplishments of 4 members who attained their PHR.  We were also proud to honor Marina Atma (our SNMSHRM board certification and college relations chair and state college relations director) on her SPHR certification.  I am sure as soon as they receive their certificate they will be completing the tutorial for the SHRM CP or SHRM SCP.

If you already have a qualifying certification (ie PHR or SPHR) in good standing you are eligible to obtain the SHRM CP or SHRM SCP for free through the end of 2015.  If you are looking for more details please feel free to contact me.

The board has been working very hard at planning upcoming meetings and events that will be informative and fun, no matter where your level of HR expertise is.  The upcoming meeting topics include:

March – OSHA updates and case reviews with John Schlegel, CSHO

April – Domestic Violence in the workplace

May – Legislative update with Alice Kilborn, Employment Law Attorney with Moody & Warner

June – Staying compliant with ADA in 2015 and review of case studies

July - Topic and Speaker Still Pending

August - Rodney Klein Outreach & Education Manager from the EEOC

If you have any questions or suggestions for our chapter please let me know!
